Repeat stool sample

A few weeks ago my teen DS was asked to do a stool sample following a doctor's appointment where he said he had pain in his bottom.

The Doc said it was probably a tear. He asked him to do a stool sample. This was about 10 days ago. They have sent me a message saying he needs to repeat it.

Why would that be? Unfortunately a google search scared me.

It may just be that there was something wrong with the sample e.g incorrectly labelled, didn't get to lab in time, lost...

Ok thx.
I freak out when it comes to my DC’s health. Ok if it’s me, but not my kids!!!

I had to do the exact same thing twice. The first time was because the label on the container wasn't labelled correctly and the second time was because the bag it was in hadn't been sealed and labelled correctly. I was so fed up having to keep providing samples, that I now check everything before I leave the GPs surgery. Please try not to worry.
