Hello! So i started a beta blockers 31st march, 4-–5th april i started noticing a facial rash . Arms started getting itchy, the dr said it probably is the medication so continue it. I did and the rash got more itchy. Tingly lips and tounge, i stopped the meds on Tuesday and im still itchy /super dry faced.
throat feels abit weird, lips having the odd tingle… i havent chnaged anything else. These are the rashes, first photos how it started then now.
anyone who has had the same or a GP ? My gp isnt sure ….
thankyou :)

Probably just need time to get out of your system. I texted badly to some BP meds and it took a couple of weeks for side effect to go away. Have you taken Piriton to see if that helps?

Starrr123 · 26/04/2023 09:31

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor did you stop them? And then it took a couple of weeks to go away? I was taken antihistamines didnt help much tbh xx

Yes,stopped BP meds but side effects came and went over a couple of weeks then went completely.

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor ok thankyou :) what reactions /symptoms did u get?
its annoying u try something for one thing and then get side effects.
did u go on to try another? Sorry just wondering because they are saying when my skin settles to try another x

I had facial reactions, extreme flushing like I had a fever, made me feel quite unwell also a weird skin crawling sensation. It took a good few months to find a combination of tablets that worked , I now take 2 different tablets in low doses which seems to work well. Hope your skin clears up soon and you find something that works.

Starrr123 · 26/04/2023 15:16

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor thats weird how u got facial reactions too. How long was u taking it before u stopped?
im worried im gonna be stuck with this rash :(

Oh it was almost immediate, came up within a day with me. I'm sure it'll settle down. Use some bland moisturiser on it like CeraVe and keep taking the antihistamines. You've stopped taking it now so no reason to think it'll continue.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 26/04/2023 15:44

You could try some Anthisan cream too if it's itchy.

Starrr123 · 26/04/2023 16:50

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor mine started a few days after taking it but i kept taking it for 3 weeks 😩 i have no some soothing cream! Its just been over a week since stopping so may just take another week or so. Ive also now
got stronger antihistamines x

Hope it goes soon,it really gets you down, doesn't it?

Starrr123 · 26/04/2023 18:05

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor it really does. Im going away in 2 weeks and the thought of my skin being like this is giving me awful anxiety! Do u feel the same x

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 26/04/2023 18:48

I did before it all cleared up,it was awful. 2 weeks is a while away, it should be clear by then.

Starrr123 · 26/04/2023 20:06

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor yes i hope so x ive got a little girl and just wanna be ok so

Crikeyalmighty · 04/05/2023 20:51

Weirdly I'm on beta blockers and don't get rashes but do get daily burning/ flushing sensations- really unpleasant ones for hours- and very sore eyes

Starrr123 · 04/05/2023 22:57

@MrsPelligrinoPetrichor just over 2 weeks stopping the meds :( i tried antihistamines. Hoping it will go, i used cetaphil moisturiser and its eased it down x
