Optician problem

9 days ago I had bad conjunctivitis which, after 4 days, blurred my vision.
As the infection had gone I went to a high street opticians to check my vision.
I explained that I'd very recently had conjunctivitis and that I'd had a normal eye test with them 5 weeks previously.
My eyesight was checked and I was told that my eyesight had dramatically changed in a short space of time.
I asked if that was due to the infection to which I was told no, I needed glasses.
I immediately ordered some from them.
However, my eyes have now completely gone back to normal and the prescription glasses are now way off.
Btw I didn't need glasses before this.
So, what to do? Could I get a refund? The glasses are useless to me now but it's his word against mine that he said the infection wasn't the cause, when it obviously was.
Not sure where to go from here?? Anyone?

Go back to the opticians - they should change the lenses or give you a refund. If you don't have any luck go to the Optical Consumer Complaints Service. Assume you went to a big chain.

Unsure why you would have had sight tests so close together? I can only assume you had concerns due to the eye infection. Usually high st opticians have a good returns policy on specs. Go back to the store, ask to speak to store manager, say you want a refund on the specs, if try to book you in for retest, say you will contact head office if it’s ss they are based in Guernsey, they definitely won’t want you contacting ho with a complaint. Good luck.
