Is your first period after birth meant to be long?

I'm having my first period since having ds and today will make it day 14 of very heavy bleeding. I feel physically drained. Is it normal to bleed for so long?

That sounds excessive, i would phone nhs-direct, unless ur baby less than 6 wks old? How old ur baby?

It's common to get very heavy periods in the months afterwards but not, I don't think, for that length of time. Agree with lljkk.

Called nhs direct who told me to do doc. I went to the doctor who said if I am still losing blood in a month to go back! very scary really.
