DS1 has a really odd rash on his face

I noticed it yesterday before he went to school, but thought it was becasue he had been lying on the floor. Today though it's back. It's on either cheek, about the size of a £2.00 coin, and blotchy. he says it's not itchy, and he wasn't aware of it until i pointed it out. Any ideas what it could be?

slapped cheek? Has he been ill recently? I think the rash for slapped cheek comes out a while after the actual illness

He hasn't been ill, well he ahd a sickness bug thing about 3 weeks ago, but it was only a day. He seems fine
