Have I been over doing it on the iron tablets?

My ear has been ringing for months now and I have been feeling unberably icy cold with my skin constantly sporting goosebumps despite the weather warming.

I was convinced my results would show low iron yet all have arrived back normal, apart from the ferritin which is 289 ug/l.
Could supplementing with ferrous fumarate have raised my ferritn levels over the threshold?
My Dr has advised to stop and will retest in a couple of months.

It could be the supplementation, although inflammation can artificially raise your ferritin levels as well, have you had any illness recently? A CRP test should show this. Do you have a measure for transferrin saturation or total iron binding capacity too? How about your haemoglobin?

I haven't had any obvious sign of illness apart from the above symptoms and feeling a bit spaced out and achey. I also look really pale.

Transferrin Saturation - 36
Hemoglobin - 143
Can't seen to see the CRP but my ESR is 8.

Was initially loathed to stop the iron tablets as my hair is starting to shed less but after googling 'elevated ferritin levels' I think it's probably wise..
