Is it worth seeing the GP about piles?

Am 30 weeks pregnant with my second and the dreaded piles have returned already - have over the counter stuff but can the doctor give anything more effective?

don't know if it's worth a trip to see GP at this stage??

Apparently sudacrem is the stuff. can't help with your GP question though but hopefully a dr will be along to answer your question properly!

Not meaning to hijack, but after two babes, I still have recurring pile-tastic problems. Do you think we are stuck with them for life? Mine aren't major - won't get too graphic, but I don't both treating them and have never been to my GP about them...hopefully this will keep the thread bumped for some more helpful souls out there....

Im with Sycamoretree I have the same problem after two children and I havent bothered with gp and dont treat them - problem just occurs every now and then. I did go to the GP years ago when it first happened as I had my first child and I dont think they will give you anything any much different to over the counter stuff however do remember if its prescription and you are pregnant then its free as opposed to paying yourself for over counter. Just check its all safe for pregnancy etc.
