I had an abscess which was agony and now the dentist has said I need to have tooth extracted tomorrow. Not sure if I’ll be able to go to work on Thursday?

When DH had his out he was working again the next day. He works from home though; I guess if you have a more physical job then it might be harder.

Yes I have a physical job and Friday and Saturday are going to be long days so not sure if I should take Thursday off

I was off for 2 weeks after mine. I got dry socket and it made me feel quite unwell.

I had a molar out and was so totally unprepared for how it was.

Yes, take Thursday off and rest.

Make sure you do salt rinses!

Had exactly the same last month! Abcess, then 3 days into a 7 day course of antibiotics he removed it. It was my upper wisdom tooth. He packed it to prevent dry socket so it barely bled at all. Next day my jaw was sore but paracetamol and ibuprofen at the same time was plenty for the discomfort. I worked from home 1 hour after extraction for the afternoon and returned to work the following day.

It will feel like nothing compared to the abcess, trust me!

Ps. Dentist said that the abcess did a lot of the hard work for him as it had loosened the tooth. He also said upper wisdom teeth are easier than bottom. So perhaps I was lucky there.

Good luck!
