Irregular Heart rate

Just a we hand hold if possible.

I've had heart flutters all my life on and off and been reassured they're normal, also notably more common when I wasn't on enough thyroxine.

Ive had a ridiculous run of viruses, infections etc since Xmas, inc a chest infection that needed x 2 lots of abs and now tonsillitis . I had covid twice last year and was affected by a fugue for a long time after both. Then again this year at the start of feb. About a month after covid (and a couple weeks after another bad cough that affected my asthma) I started getting an occasional racing heart or more commonly, a fluttering, irregular heart.

It seemed to get worse when I was poorly again with a stomach bug end of March and again now with tonsillitis.

A nurse I saw in urgent care today for my tonsils took my pulse and commented that it was irregular and to get it checked out.

I've in between illnesses felt capable of swimming and a 4 mile very steep climbing hike and was (I thought) ok. Heart may have been a bit fluttery afterwards; can't remember.

I've assumed it's post covid. Or post the flu thing I had at Xmas.

Would just like reassurance that this can happen sometimes - my approach is to up the exercise tbh. And double check my thyroid levels. I was going to mention it but didn't think it was too serious.

I can't help beyond moral support OP but I've had similar fluctuations etc over last year or so. Going for ECG. Assume it's covid related - seems like a massive coincidence.

I take thyroxine and I have what feels like arrhythmias like you when I am under the weather. If you are worried ask your GP for a 24 hour ECG and if this shows anything they will do an echocardiogram.
