I had a blood test a fortnight ago, just a routine check due to a family history of heart problems.

The GP sent me a text to repeat them so I checked the results.
The following have * to suggest abnormal
Neutrophil 1.2
Platelets 134

Everything else is marked as Normal.
google is making me anxious, could anyone shed light?

Have you been poorly recently?
Neutrophils can be low after illness and are often normal on recheck. Same with platelets.
Try not to worry.

Sounds like your immune system is low. DS got referred to the hospital at one point for low lymphocytes which are a different type of white blood cell, he'd had a run of infections and I think it knocked him, it resolved eventually with no long term effects. Hopefully it's not too much to worry about but I would take steps to avoid catching anything if you can, give your system time to recover. So many bugs flying around. Wear a decent mask (FFP2/3, especially on public transport or at the doctor's where there are often lots of infectious people), open a window, buy an antiviral nasal spray such as boots Dual Defence or Viraleze. Use a mouthwash containing CPC before and after you have been out. If you're in a position to buy them for work or home HEPA air purifiers can help reduce spread of infections too. Hope your doctor gets to the bottom of it and it's nothing serious.

I was referred with low neutrophils but mine were really low (0.3) over a long period of time. At referral I had pretty much none

They do fluctuate so a one off can be normal depending if you've been unwell etc but sensible to retest
Do not google, I know it's hard! I was WTF when I got a call telling me to go straight to hospital and they were all masked/gowns (before covid) and my condition is pretty manageable

Thank you. I’m fit and well and not prone to any infections but I did have a horrible vomiting bug in November and I wonder if that’s connected.
I’ve got an appointment to repeat the tests again in a month.

I’ve got low neutrophils too, although the GP has signed it off online as no action. I had low lymphocytes too, though they seem to have increased again (I had a private blood test about three weeks ago and my NHS one yesterday - quick results). The private report said it could be after an infection and my googling seems to support this, although information is confusing and contradictory it seems, and I did have Covid then a separate cough and cold then a stomach upset, but who knows?
