Have small whiteish bumps on my vulva. Everywhere, around my bum also. It’s so so so sore, it’s actually making me cry. Can’t get to drs til tomorrow. No idea what it is. Thought could be genital warts, been with same partner for years and definitely no cheating going on but I’ve read that doesn’t matter with genital warts, also ready they shouldn’t be painful but these are mega painful!!! Burning, Stinging. How can I relive it for now 😞

seriously this is agony… dp is back to work tomorrow and I’ve got kids to get to school (luckily off work at the moment on maternity) I don’t know how I’m going to fo it I just want to cry

Do you think a man in this position would be trying to carry on as normal? He needs to take annual leave to deal with the DC for a few days because you are too unwell. I don't understand how you're not totally pissed off that he's (probably, pending diagnosis) given you an incurable disease. Don't people with cold sores get warning signs? Anyone I know with them has spoken of tingling etc before one comes out. He could have chosen to not have sex, then you wouldn't be in this situation in the first place. The least he can do is take on the bulk of everything until the doctors get this episode under control for you.

So sorry this has happened OP, sounds awful.

Drs is shut I don’t know how I’d see anyone tonight

For future reference, out of hours GP is a thing. For pain relief you can get both paracetamol and ibuprofen with codeine added in, available over the counter in the pharmacy.

He has taken it off. So he’s home till Friday… if I’m not better than tough he will have to take that off too.
he didn’t know that genital herpes was a thing, he was confused when I explained it all to him. I think that’s the trouble with herpes no one really talks about it.

thank you. Hopefully the pills work quickly. I’ve taken some codiene so hopefully that helps, along with ibuprofen

How does a guy not know about genital herpes. I'm in my 50s and did this stuff in sex ed back Inthe 80s. I would be absolutely fuming.

Well I didn’t really know about it either, and after speaking to my mum and sister they didn’t know about it either! We knew herpes is a thing but didn’t know much about the genital side of it. It’s such a taboo subject people don’t talk about it unfortunately and I think that should definitely change. I’ve always been careful with sexual partners, but the nurse said even condoms don’t protect you completely from this virus. I also told a close friend I have it and she said he has had it, I had no idea, because it’s not something people want the world knowing is it.

Has it, rather than had, it isn’t something you ever get rid of, although you can go years without an outbreak. It’s important if you get pregnant to tell the midwife as they need to treat to prevent an outbreak during the birth which could be passed onto baby during delivery. I hope the symptoms ease for you soon op.

Genital herpes

Genital herpes is caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV) type 1 or type 2. It causes painful blisters to appear on the genitals and the surrounding areas.

I realise that, but she doesn’t have genital herpes right this minute. She’s not even had it since the first outbreak but gets cold sores a lot so was aware of the risks but didn’t say anything as it’s not something everyone talks about.

im completely done having children now thankfully, 100% never having anymore.
