Prostate MRI

My dad had elevated prostate results so had a consultation this week. They have organised an MRI for him in 2 days which seems very urgent to me.

Do you think this means they are worried? I thought wait times on the NHS were bad at the moment.

MY dad had the biopsy done first, then the scans.

Try not to worry. Even if they find something (and they may not) the chances are that it will be fully cureable.

My dad got diagnosed with prostate cancer in his early 70s. For certain reasons they couldn't use radiology on it so he was put on medication. They said they had so many different medications for it, as one stopped working, they'd just move him on to another. They said he wouldn't die of it. True enough, the medication caused the cancer to shrink so much, he hardly showed any sign of it. He died 15 years later in his 80s, nothing to do with the cancer. He died with it not of it. And that was a while ago so they'll have lots of even better things now.
