Okay? Sign of something wrong? Side affect of AD's?

I had this - in my case it was cervical erosion (entirely benign) but doc did check I was up to date with smears, so probably worth getting that checked just in case.
Oh, and the only other times I had it is was implantation bleeding

NAB3wishesfor2008 · 14/02/2008 19:53

My baby is 2 and 8 months and I have had a smear since he was born. Is that up to date?

Def no implantation bleeding.

Seems to happen when I am stressed.

Is cervical erosion after s*x? In my case, not linked as haven't beeb busy!

Have had more loss this morning. Seems like a normal period but has come way to soon. In denial a bit tbh but also need a kick up the bum if I do need to do something.

Period coming early sounds like something to have checked out, imho. Think smears are due every 3 years, so you are up to date but getting towards being due another one, if you had it done soon after his birth.

Ito cervical erosion, think sex aggravates the bleeding, but personally my bleeds have never been linked to sex. It's basically (iirc) that some people's cervix's (cervii?) are esp sensitive, and more likely to blled. This then causes like a sort of scab/scar, which again, can easily be irritated. Easily fixed via cauterisation (sp?)
I never bothered, as mine is relatively little hassle.

Make an appt. It's probably nothing. But worth being sure.
I'll be checking up on you....

I had less than a week froim the end of period before bleeding again. At the end of my period I normally finish and have a clear day and then one more day. Nothing like this.

smears aren't up to date if you have a new symptom.....might be from womb lining if "old" ie dark red blood....probably nothing but needs checking out...i've got the latter and have a gynae appt this week

NAB3wishesfor2008 · 16/02/2008 17:22

So I should have a smear? Will book on Monday if yes. Will have to take DS2 but they are used to that, will it be awful for him to be in the room? He is 2.8yrs.

The blood smells (Sorry!) just like period but I don't have period pain and it isn't as heavy. I know my insides aren't great since having the kids but I am loath to waste time if nothing (I am on AD's and also take 2 other tablets, could it be them?) but also a bit scared in case it is cervical cancer.

I think it would be a good idea - if only for your peice of mind.I'm sure cervical cancer is the least likely explanation, but certainly worth ruling it out

Dd went to my smear with me - at 20 mths - but I found somewhere else for ds (3.5) - I think he would have been slightly freaked, but more to the point would have asked 1001 humilating questions/regaled the in-laws with the story

No idea on the ADs - sorry! Assume you've checked if either of them cite bleeding as a side-effect?

NAB3wishesfor2008 · 16/02/2008 18:03

Have chucked out the side effects leaflet as been on them so long.....

serotonin reuptake inhibitors like citalopram can affect periods....but smelly blood sounds like maybe an infection?

i would suggest seeing gp to sort it out...
