White spot in throat

Hi everyone. I've had a bit of a sore throat today and an awful headache which won't shift. No fever. I had a look in my throat, and my left tonsil has some red spots on it, but no pus. I do, however, have these bumps at the back of my throat (not on my tonsils), and the spot in the middle has a white head on it. Google is guessing cobblestone throat, but none of the images they show have white spots. Also, I've heard of pus on the tonsils, but not at the back of the throat! Any ideas?! I doubt it's GP worthy given I have no temperature. Thank you!

Gargle with Oraldene or Diflam, try that a few times a day and it will likely clear. Take some pain relief also! Sympathy 💐

Hey! I know this was a few months ago but I have a bump with a white dot on it almost in the exact same spot as this. Do you still have it or have any update? I’m curious as to what it could be but not concerned about it enough to see a doctor yet as I have no pain or discomfort really.

Hey @Mammothman I never figured out what this was, and it went away by itself! I have had recurrent sore throats since having Covid (4 times now 🙄), so my GP did an ENT referral. They had a good look and suspect I'm getting viral tonsillitis a fair bit. Luckily it's not severe, and is manageable. It's definitely worth a GP visit though if your throat starts to hurt frequently, and the spot doesn't shift.

Hey @Covidwoes thank you for the fast reply! I’m glad to hear it went away for you. My paranoid mind went to the big C. I popped out a few tonsil stones 🤢 the other day so I tried to reach back to touch the spot in the middle of the throat but just made me wanna gag. I quit smoking as my New Year’s resolution (Mary Jane not tobacco) so I’m giving it a couple weeks before I go get it checked to see if that was irritating my throat, it definitely felt like it haha but yea I’ve had Covid three times myself, it’s really annoying. I don’t know if it’s luck but I switched to using the paper towels after drying my hands at work to open doors and hand sanitizer in the car whenever I’m out in public and since I’ve started that I haven’t gotten Covid.. knock on wood. Anyway thanks for letting me vent and the update, helped my anxiety quite a bit.

I get those white spots at the back of my throat when I get tonsillitis.
It happens a few times a year. I find gargling with salt water helps the soreness.
Also there is a spray, difflam? That numbs your tonsils and the back of your throat that helps.
I find cold drinks and throat sweets also help . Should clear up in about a week.
