Dear all
Has anyone had this done???
I had a CT for terrible abdominal pain, have been passed from general surgery over to Gastro but their solution was to take more laxatives which just aren't working.
I've gone 3 days without opening my bowels I'm in agony so wondering what I can do to help myself?

I drink gallons of water and have a high fibre diet to no avail!!

Any advice gratefully received

Chia seeds. Google internal shower. The effects are pretty good. Two tablespoons swirled in a glass of water and chugged quickly in the even8ng, effective by morning.

I recently read about research that said the best cure for ongoing constipation is 2 kiwi fruit a day. Including skin. Eaten every day they keep you regular. It does seem weird eating them with the skin on but they then include both soluble and insoluble fibre. I do have to cut the Nobbly ends off though.

Are you menopausal by chance?
Will gastro prescribe Resolor? Or the GP?
Good luck.

Dried apricots and some prunes with custard will get you going.

Lcb123 · 10/04/2023 21:09

i wouldn’t, it will flush out all the good bacteria. Try dried apricots,
dried prunes and kiwi fruit with the skin on. And get peppermint oil capsules, always help me. Can try some specific yoga poses as well, look on Google

I take fybrogel as it’s so gentle but it takes a few days
