My nurse has suggested that I start this drug, just wondered if anyone can give any experience of being on it, side effects, weight loss etc? TIA

Not as uncommon as you may think, relative had similar experience.

I have been on it for a few years, you need to drink a lot of water and of course then you are always going to the toilet! I think you need to be more careful with thrush as you wee out the sugar.

LIZS yes, Type 2 diabetic, currently on Metform, 4 x 500g a day.

My nurse suggested this new drug at my annual review this week. I forgot to ask if it was instead of or in addition to though. (I am not starting it until I return from my holiday next week so will ask the doctor before I start).

HanSB yes, she did mention thrush and peeing out all of the sugar.

It made my whole body itch and gave me thrush that I couldn't throw off. I lasted 5 months and had to admit defeat and stop taking it.

Just collected the prescription and have got 10mg Jardiance which I am going to start tomorrow morning.

I've been on it about 2 years, no problems and lost over a stone without trying.

Sundayscented that's great. I am really hoping that I have the same side effect .
