Good afternoon everyone
Im 38 and a mum of 4
Im an absolute emotion mess at the moment. It started 3 weeks ago i started getting muscle twitches all over my body in diffent spots from the moment i wake up and it has kicked off my anxiety. I called the gp had bloods done and they all came back clear he said it could be due to my anxiety But the twitching started the anxiety off. Anyways ive tried to ignore them . Then last night at 1.30 i woke up with ringing in my ears which lasted around 7 hours so i made the silly mistake of googling and now im petrified of a brain tumour i know it sounds ridiculous but ive got myself in a rite state. Just wondered if anyone can relate to these symptoms. Thanks in advance

Ringing in the ears can be a symptom of anxiety.

Was there anything going on/anything on your mind/anything different in life when it all started? Sometimes anxiety can spike when life is feeling calm too - it’s like your mind can suddenly think, ‘oh everything is okay and safe at the moment, now we can turn to that thing that was bothering us and get @Nerv0usNelly ’s attention to deal with it!’

Can you separate from the anxiety a bit? Instead of saying to yourself, ‘I have anxiety’ try saying, ‘I notice I’m feeling anxious’. That subtle change in language/attitude can help you tap into your rational mind. Have you got any grounding/calming things that work for you that you can turn to?

Don’t google! Let your doctor assess your physical symptoms.

Hi OP, muscle twitching is a sign of stress - I get an eyelid twitch or a twitch in my thumb (no, I have no idea why). You say you're an emotional mess so you're body is responding to that. I also have tinnitus and sometimes get a ringing or whistling sound. The body can do weird things sometimes 😆and anxiety can cause a huge range of symptoms.

And this. I get anxiety attacks and I wonder what the hell for when everything is going OK. It's worth getting checked over just to make sure nothing else is going on.

@Heroicallyfound Thank you for the reply. I know its sounds ridiculous getting myself into a rite state over google lol. Me and my husband both work long hours and having 1 year old an a 2 year old and one of our children has autism my day to day life is hectic. Just these sudden symptoms sent me spiralling with worry. My husband is great and so supportive hes my only support at the moment.

Yeah, don't google. I ended up in A7E at 10pm one night from doing that when my anxiety was at its height, convinced I had a blood clot. I'd strained a muscle and was so embarrassed and apologetic...

@MrsDanversGlidesAgain Thank you for the reassurance. I know all this can be down to my anxiety and i keep trying to tell myself that. I got myself into a right tizwoz this morning

I self-referred to a local well-being centre and got CBT for my anxiety. It takes some work but I found it very helpful.
