Do you always bleed when on the pill even if you're pregnant?

I was just wondering would you still bleed on your 7 days free of the pill even if you're pregnant? I have often wondered about it, but I feel a bit embarrassed to ask my GP in case she thinks I'm stupid.

Do you mean you are on the pill but think you may be pregnant....and are having your 7 day pill free bit and are bleeding?

No it was just something I always wondered. Say if you missed a pill, and ended up pregnant, would you still bleed at the end of your cycle of pills?

I did, but i think it depends. That's why i didn't know i was pregnant for 11 Weeks, because i thought i was still having a period.

Not sure about the pg bit, but I do know that it is possible NOT to bleed whilst taking the pill, even if not pg. The bleed is not a proper period and not all women have them.

I got pregnant while I was on the pill, and I had a bleed on the first pill-free week after I conceived.

i once worked in a well women clinic and one the nurses told me this

when the pill was invented it was designed to take every day therefore you never had a 'period'. this make the women back then feel uneasy so they redesigned it so that you had a week off and had a 'period'. this make the women feel less uneasy and more 'normal'. ridiculous if you ask me, i hate periods!

I can see the logic though nailpolish. Whilst on pill I didn't have a period for a year, and spent half my time paranoid I was pg. In first few months of it I am sure I spent a small fortune on pg tests making sure.

dont want to worry you but i was on pill for 5 years, had regular bleeding. went to drs about something else - turned out i was 21 wks pregnant!
