Any dentists here?

Just wondering if when you have a regular checkup at the dentist, do they glance at your tonsils? I have a friend who's concerned about her tonsil being slightly enlarged, has been for a few months now. But she's been to the dentist twice recently so wondering if anything like suspect tonsils would be something they'd notice/mention? Just to put her mind slightly more at ease while she waits for an appointment. Tia

It's advisable for dentists to check the soft tissues in the mouth (which includes tonsils), but I wouldn't assume and use this as reassurance. I always do and there are certain things we are aware to look out for, but its not all encompassing and not as in depth as an examination by a medical practitioner would be.
