Can you catch rotavirus through saliva

Hello

My baby had vaccinations last week and was given the oral rotavirus vaccination. I was told to be extra careful with he's nappies and saliva as you can catch it for ten days.

He just dribbled on my toddlers foot while I was holding him while sitting and my toddler decided to lick the saliva as I was reaching for the wipes Hmm

I am in a panic now and he bevy group I am part of says they want advised about saliva.

Worried now! Does anyone know if this is the case? I guess I will find out but worrying in the mean time!

Just realised my autocorrect changed some of my words Blush 'the baby group I'm apart of wasn't advised about saliva*

Your toddler will be fine.

I don't think you have anything to worry about here, I think it's even only a slight chance of catching it through nappy changes, reduced even further with good hygiene. I'm guessing your toddler was also vaccinated,so that will give him some extra protection as it lasts a few years as far as I'm aware. Obviously if he had the actual virus(as in caught it off someone) then orally he'd be highly contagious and a different story but vaccination wise I think your toddler will be absolutely fine x
