How heavy should your AF be?

My AF is very heavy this time. Day 1 yesterday I changed my mooncup 6 times in 12 hours. Is this normal? I am 40 and have had three children.

Bumping as i have to change bed sheets a couple of times during mine.

I don't use a mooncup but I often have to change a tampon every couple hours or less atm. And I use a santitary towel overnight now.

I'm 44 and my periods started getting heavier a couple of years ago.

It's such a pain, isn't it? They were very heavy and very painful before I had the children. DD2 is now 35 mnths and they seem to be getting heavier now.

I was on and off the pill for so many years before I had dd that it was a bit of a shock to suddenly have a heavy period every blasted month.

I hate it too. I almost have to write off a few days each month now due to PMT, heavy bleeding, pain etc.
