Lump on neck

I do tend to jump to worst case scenario so trying not to spiral!
I noticed a lump on my neck in January, I thought it was a swollen lymph node - I felt fine at the time but I did start with a stubborn cold (possibly Covid?) about 3 days later so I assumed it was that. But it's still there. Would it still be there 2 months after I was ill? I haven't been poorly since the cold either.
I've done an e-consult for a GP appointment but warned it could be 2-4 weeks before an appointment so trying to avoid googling worst case scenarios. Has anyone had similar?
Just to add it's a small, pea sized lump. Hard and not moveable. About 2 inches under my ear.

Hi, did you find out what this was? I found a painful lump at the back of my head/top of my neck area nearly 6 weeks ago. I thought it was a lymph node since I'd just gotten over a cold and then a sickness bug. The pain went away after a few days and I stopped worrying about it until I felt it a few weeks later and it was still swollen. I saw a gp last week who initially said she couldn't even feel a lump, eventually she did find it and then said it's probably just a swollen node and booked me in for a blood test which I'm having next week.

So, I booked a routine GP appointment which was for the 21st April. However, a week before the appointment I noticed the lump had gone - typical! I suspect it was a swollen lymph node that was just still swollen from the bad cold I had in January. I keep checking and it's still not there at all.

Oh that's good. It's so worrying hanging around for so long. I had to cancel my blood test for today because I needed antibiotics for a uti and they said it would mess up the result so the waiting continues!!
