Hi everyone, just asking for my mum really.
She was diagnosed with breast cancer last week after ultrasound, mammogram and biopsies. The consultant was very positive and said they are looking at stage one.
My question is how can she stage it without a CT/MRI scan?

I would imagine if they can see it's contained in one tumour, reasonably small, and not in her lymph nodes, then it's stage one.

They make the assumption if it's not in the lymph's, it's not spread.

They don't need a body scan to confirm this.

I say all this as someone that had breast cancer. Stage one. Fine now 3 years later.

I imagine they can see from the mammogram or ultrasound that it’s very small.
I hope treatment is quick and successful.
