Soft tissue injury to the heel...in a boot ...how can I make walking easier ?

As it says ...I have a boot and 2 crutches but am managing indoors with just one crutch and /or wall and counter tops .

But my gait is all out of sorts and my back is now starting to play up.

I am wearing a croc shoe on the other foot ( normally I am just socks indoors) but I can still fell the imbalance.

Has anyone had this type of injury before and how long the pain lasts ?

I am due a call from fracture clinic during the week just to confirm there is no break ( X ray taken at minor injuries)

Thank you .

I'm currently wearing a boot too!
Wear a shoe on the good foot that has a bit of a heel to make up the difference in height. My current shoe of choice is a loafer.

Hello fellow Bootie !

Yes I am alternating between a croc shoe which is still too low and just my tip toe !

What was your injury ?

Going downstairs I still have to do one foot at a time .

I had a boot for a while and had the same issue, I wore really chunky trainer on my good foot.

I also had another problem. A very active, newly crawly 10 month old who discovered the unbelievable joy of ripping the Velcro open. Kept her entertained at least!

Honestly I don’t think there’s loads you can do to even it up, so I’d concentrate on stretching out your back, calves, hamstrings etc as much as you’re able?

I fell down one step at home and badly sprained my ankle. I was booted up because the walk in centre wanted to refer my xrays to the main hospital to check for fractures. Am now weaning off it.

Thank you all for taking time to reply.
Yes Maggie...I think I do need to concentrate on the other areas as well

Don't know how long you need the boot, but you can get an 'Evenup' to attach to the other shoe to make if level with the boot.

Oh my word ..thank you !

You need a raised surgical shoe on the other side to even your shoe height.
