Can I donate blood today if I am going to the dentist in a week's time?

One of the questions for donating asks if you've just been to the dentist or are waiting to see one.
I could cancel the dentist, I guess, but I'd rather not as I've already cancelled once.
It's just a filling so there should be no blood loss.

It’s about infection control. You can’t donate after anything that makes your gums bleed. I don’t think I’ve been asked (in Scotland) about future dental plans - I guess they might be concerned you might have an infection - is it a small filling or a big one?

The Welsh blood service say you can’t donate with toothache. So again I guess it depends on your filling.

A chunk of tooth fell off a molar, I've had a temporary filling. No pain.

They asked me if the tooth was infected and when I said it wasn't I was allowed to donate.
