Tooth abscess

Seeing the dentist today and in so much pain. I'm really worried that I'm going to need root canal or extractions as I just can't afford it. I have a dental plan, but it's pay up front then claim back part of it.

If I need extractions, I don't have enough teeth on the other side so eating is going to be a real issue and I can't afford a denture or implants. Dentist has advised against a bridge as not suitable.

There's no nhs dentist availability anywhere near me, so having to use a private one. Essentially, I'm worried that I'll end up stuck. Not able to afford the treatment I need, struggling to eat. My eating is already difficult due to asd and this will make it worse.

I doubt anyone will be able to suggest anything really. I'm just in pain and upset.

If both sides are out for chewing food, protein shakes will keep you going for a bit, or soup.
I've had an abscess before and they're really painful. I took to putting a paracetamol in my mouth beside the painful tooth and letting it dissolve there. It tasted horrid but dulled the pain faster.
