Any one have a root canal that took a while to settle?

I had my root canal completed 2 weeks ago. Since I had it done it has been sensitive to pressure, no toothache, just feels very sensitive if I press on it.
I was back at the dentist yesterday to have a wisdom tooth out on the same side, I mentioned that the root canal tooth is still very tender and he said it all looks ok, although it was in a very bad state before and we really were bringing it back from the brink.
The root canal tooth is feeling even more sensitive today after the wisdom tooth extraction and I feel very upset about all this. I’m really scared of the dentist, not to mention the money this is all costing.
Has anyone else had a wisdom tooth that took a while to settle? I’m scared it will end up as another extraction which I really cannot face.

TIA

Root canals take a while to settle. Your dentist will have cleaned out all the debris and gone above the tooth into the tissues. It's like having a bruise and waiting for that to go down. It will probably settle down especially if you avoid putting pressure on it at the moment. Sometimes they don't and the RCT will fail. My last one got infected and I had a huge abscess burst on the gum line. I thought that it was going to fail, but six years on the tooth is still there.

It can take a couple of days but I would say it shouldn’t be weeks. I would try to find a different dentist and see that they take X-ray of the tooth, so they can see if the filling goes all way down the route canal. Sorry you are feeling poorly with it. It is freustrating and painful and expensive but can be sorted.

Thanks for your replies.
I think I will give it a few more weeks in the hope that it does settle and then perhaps find another dentist to check it again. My dentist did do an xray after it was completed and said it all looks good now. That whole side of my mouth is still tender following the wisom tooth extraction too 😫

It can take months to fully settle according to my dentist. As long as it's not painful, give it time.
