Perianal Abscess - anxious!

Hi all,

I am a 30F who just discovered what looks like a Perianal Abscess. Its worth noting that I first discovered this about 1 month ago whilst I was on holiday and after dousing it with antiseptic cream and warm water, it went down. Just two days ago, I was wiping after using the loo and noticed a small lump and realised it has come back and suddenly became VERY painful after touching it. Currently the pain is manageable but I don’t feel well (headaches and just general feeling of being unwell - no fever or sweats). I’ve been in bed all day to try manage pain and drinking as much liquid as possible. I went to the GP yesterday who prescribed me a week of antibiotics and said if it gets worse within 48hours then to go to A&E. It hasn’t gotten worst but it also hasn’t gotten better?

I was just wondering if anyone ever came across this issue? And how it was resolved (if it ever did?). I plan to start trying for kids at the end of the year and worried this type of issue may cause problems during pregnancy and may lead to me not being able to have a natural birth (due to tearing in the area).

Any advice will be greatly appreciated!
