In case anyone was wondering - I have NC for a different (legal) issue which I then chickened out of posting about - I am not a noob or a bum fetishist!
I fell on my bum a week ago. I just slipped going downhill on a wet smooth pavement. I'm quite heavy so that probably didn't help. I could get up and walk around immediately. The rest of that evening and the next day, I wondered if I might have bruised my coccyx as it hurt in a very central location, sort of at the top of my bum crack. However it didn't hurt when sitting, which apparently a bruised coccyx should. I'm not much of a worrier and have always been of the "give it a week" school with most things, which has rarely let me down.
From the second day onwards, the pain shifted from the bum crack area to just one butt cheek, which still hurts at times, especially when I first get up from lying or sitting, when I bend down and if I wear very flat, thin soled shoes. I can locate the exact area that hurts and it's just about in the middle of that buttock, so possibly a bruised muscle, except there's still no visible bruising. It's been just a week now (later today) and it's not severe enough for me to be worried about a serious injury, but it's frustrating as I am normally a very active person, running and doing another sport, and I haven't felt like doing either for a week now. I'm still walking quite a lot, as I always walk everywhere. That is mostly OK, maybe a bit achy going uphill.
If I make a doctor's appointment I probably won't get one for a week or so and even then it might just be a phone one, so there's not a lot of point if it's going to get better on its own quite soon. I feel like it is improving slowly but not back to normal by any means.
Just wondered if anyone has done something similar and how long it took to recover completely. Also is it normal not to see any visible bruises? I once "bruised" my ribs and was out of action for weeks while never seeing any bruises, so I can kind of believe it, but it would be satisfying to see them gradually fade!
