What is wrong with my toe? (photos attached)

Hi all,

Couple of photos attached. I have a long-term callous beneath one of my toes. Noticed there was a dark bit under it today so have been filing away and other photo shows what it looks like 'exposed'.

I've been terrifying myself on Google, it's shown me melanoma etc. Alternative seems to be a blood blister.

Obviously if it doesn't clear up I will send a photo to the doctor but... has anyone any experience of something similar?

Either a verruca or it's bled under the callus

Looks like a splinter haemorrhage or haematoma (blood in the callus). Usually seen in high oressure / callus.

I get those, I have the same type of callous on the same toe (I think we have identical feet, strangely enough). It's bled under the callous. Nothing to worry about. Usually happens to me if I've worn new shoes or been on a particularly long walk.

Thanks all - pretty sure it's not a verruca, used to get them as a child and this looks different to me, but won't rule it out!

To the posters who said bleeding under the callus - thank you, I suspect that is more likely. I will keep an eye on it!

I've got one on the side of my little toe! It kind of looks like a freckle now
