A&E visit but afraid that bit of popcorn still stuck in tracheae or oesophagus

This post on behalf of friend .She inhaled a piece of popcorn a week ago .Major choking .Pain. 111 advised A&E .Had blood tests inc arterial for oxygen levels.Prescribed penicillin in case she had aspirated and piece in lung .
She's still in pain and burping a lot which is unusual for her .Has been in contact with GP who has prescribed omeprazole .

I was trying to reassure her yesterday that the pain was probably from a bit of trauma where the popcorn got stuck .But today I'm thinking what if it's still stuck ?
Will it gradually disintegrate and be ok ? If it's in her windpipe rather than gullet will that be ok ?

Any thoughts ?

I am NOT a medical professional.

But I did read years ago that small pieces of food get inhaled into the lungs sometimes and they just disintegrate and get absorbed.

If she is in pain then keeping an eye on it and seeing GP again could be an idea.

Thanks @cornflake .I was hoping that but I was trying so hard to be encouraging at the time that I woke up this morning worrying that I'd dismissed the idea that a bit might still be stuck .

I would get her to speak to her GP again.
