Combined pill = HRT?

(Also posted on menopause board but it’s quiet)
I’ve just had an appt with my GP (second one, first was August) where I outlined my peri symptoms. I’m almost 44, and bloods done last Sep said my FSH was 4.2 which only confirms I’m not post-menopausal. My mum went through menopause by age 48 so it’s perfectly feasible that I’m now in peri.

GP was reluctant to prescribe HRT and said the combined pill I’m on should be providing the same benefits as HRT (I’m on Norimin 1mg/0.035mg). She has referred me to a menopause clinic but has anyone else been told this?
