How can I shift this cough?

I got a cough in January and it seemed to be a chest infection. I'm on a 3rd course of antibiotics now, the first two helped but then the cough and associated green gunk came back, this course seems to have helped a bit more but there's still a rattling when I breathe in.

Is it a post covid thing? What can I do to shift it?

I have also had a cough for months now.
It waxes and wanes but never seems to fully go away.

Every new cold and the cough is back, seems to get worse each time.

Has your GP ordered an Xray?

I'm the same, cough with rattling for 5 weeks and had 2 lots of antibiotics which have done nothing.
Back to the doctors tomorrow, its driving me mad now.

I'd go back and see if you can have more tests, an x Ray etc. It sounds like a bit more investigation is needed.

I had an X-ray back in September which was clear, at that point I'd been coughing all summer. Then it went away for a while.
It's definitely time to see the GP I think.

I have had a similar cough for months now, had a period of coughing up gunk then back to the unproductive cough,it’s like trying to cough something up that isn’t there. I keep hoping it will just go on its own eventually. I haven’t tested positive for Covid. My grandchildren have been coughing and sneezing over me so assumed I caught it off them but they recovered.

Have you tried anti-histamines?

Tree pollen is in full force now and hayfever can cause a cough. It's easy to miss at this time of the year because you assume it's a flare up of the cold(s) you just had.

I've been given some Lansoprazole to reduce reflux which is maybe provoking a cough, also a chest X-ray appointment. No actual GP appointment though Hmm
