Could this be chickenpox??

My dd is 3 and a half and has been off sick from nursery since last monday. She had a really high temperature for about 4 days running, which came from nowhere and went just as quickly. I have just given her a bath and there are small spots on her back and tummy, not many, I'd say ten at most. Would it be possible that she could be so poorly so long before getting any spots? One boy at nursery is sick with chickenpox, which is what makes me suspect this. I am also 24 weeks pg, and have never had chickenpox. Would it be terrible if I did get it?

There is no puss or anything- just small red spots, slightly raised.

There is a 2 wk incubation period so it could be possible. My dd had chicken pox when I was 30wks and apparantly it is only dangerous in early or late pg so you should be ok. It will make you feel rough though.

Chicken pox spots start off like that and then get blisters. My dd had a spot on the inside of her eye for 3 days before all the rest came, and then they all came at once.

O dear she has been complaining of an itchy mouth- she can't possibly get spots in there can she?! If it is chicken pox is she likely to really 'feel' poorly again iyswim? Or will she be herself just with added spots?

My dd wasn't poorly, just a bit hot every now and then. They can get them in their mouth unfortunatly, and dd had them all over her bottom, front and back !! It doesn't last that long, and this will probably be the worst time. I found that she was more grumpy when she only had a few spots.
