What does psoriasis look like?

I had this dry thing come up on my wrist a few weeks ago. Itchy and a bit scaly. Pink in colour. Since then I've had one on the sole of my foot too and today another one appeared on my other wrist.

I suffer from excema on and off which didn't develop until I was 16 but (and this is going to sound daft) I dont as a rule suffer from dry skin. Doctor said it was excema caused by a sudden allergy. It will flare up if I wear a watch (the buckle, sometimes the back), certain belt buckles do it and certain jewellery (of the costume kind). This doesn't look anything like my excema does.

Lately ive been finding these dry skin patches here and there, before the pink scaly things came (nice). A friend has suggested psoriasis but it looks nothing like hers which was white and raised?

Any ideas on what it is and what to put on it?, would feel a bit daft going to the doctors for a small itchy thing.

Psoriasis is pinky/red and has white scaly patches on the top if it is dry. It is basically an over production of skin cells which is why it is red (increased blood flow) and then the excess skin is on top (hence white scaly patches). It doesn't usually itch that much unless it is very dry and not treated. I would go to the doctor though because it can get worse quite quickly and is better to nip in the bud and also it might be something else entirely.

There are loads of pages on psoriasis but they tend to show pretty extreme cases and it may have freaked you out a bit ESPECIALLY if it is not psoriasis.
Go to your doc to have a proper diagnosis but here is a link to the Psoriasis Association.
