Morton's Neuroma steroid injection

I'm wondering if anyone has had a steroid injection for MN? I had one yesterday and the pain is really bad today. Wondering what the recovery time will be? The podiatrist didn't say too much and to be fair I didn't ask but assumed it would be a bit sore at the injection site. It feels like my MN is angry and more painful than ever!

Hoping the pain will settle down in a day or too but would love to hear some 1st hand experiences.

Any help appreciated!

Was it just steroid? When DH had his MN injected (greedy git had 2 in one foot, 1 in the other) they did a mixture of steroid and local anesthesia so that it wouldn't be quite so angry until the steroids kicked in

Thanks, it was a combined steroid and LA. I’m in more pain now than before!

Sorry I don't have any advice / experience to share but im going for the MN steroid injection tomorrow morning so i came on here to see if anyone else had had it previously. How are you now? Has the pain eased?

I had one, privately, a few years ago

The first week was awful, but the pain wore off and there was much less pain for nearly 5 years.

I was able to run on mine pain free at day 10. Hurt like a beast until day 5.

DiddlySquat52 · 13/03/2023 21:32

Yes, it was much more painful for 3-5 days and then no more pain. It's been about two months and I've forgotten all about it!

Just to say. I’m on day 4 and the pain is so much better. I did use a protective air boot for a few days which probably seems a touch overkill, but it helped me get around and work and sort the kids etc.

Im hoping this is it and I’ll be pain free from now on! Still a little niggle but it’s early days.

thank you everyone. 😊

Are you all still pain free now?
