Strawberry birthmark on baby developed black bit in the middle ?

This has developed on my baby's birthmark. Really worried. Should I be concerned? It's also very dry

Does the colour change with temperature at all? DD’s goes a lot darker when she’s cold. Or has it taken a knock at all? We were warned that they bleed quite easily. But definitely get it checked if you’re worried.

Has it been seen by a doctor at all?

It’s almost certainly just a venous formation within the nevus but definitely worth checking out if you’re worried.

@pampermouse no it doesn't change colour :( it's on he's tummy so right at the front on he's rib cage. It's very black darker in real life more so than the photo. I'm worried about ulceration after googling as it is very dry! :(

@Pieceofpurplesky no I have only just noticed it when giving him he's bedtime bath. I will call first thing tomorrow

You need to put vasaline on it morning and night as it needs to keep moisturised.
