Hi all,
not sure what I’m hoping for with this really but would be glad of anything really.
I’ve had severe discomfort in my central upper abdomen radiating round the left side of my rib cage for 7 weeks. Battery of blood tests stool samples vaginal swabs h pylori screen shows nothing. Ultrasound picked up an enlarged spleen. I look and feel dreadful. Booked for CT abdomen next port of call. Any experiences similar are welcome I’m massively stressing about lymphoma particularly but anything cancer related obviously 😩

So sorry you're going through this. I don't have a similar experience re: enlarged spleen so I can't really reassure, other than to say I had a similar pain a few years ago for months. Blood tests weren't looking good and constant enlarged lymph nodes, but they couldn't find a cause, and it all went away on its own after about 5 months.

It's definitely a good sign that they can't find anything wrong in the tests so far.

Until the ct test just get yourself as healthy physically and mentally as possible - super clean diet and staying stress free. That way you might be able to see if is positively affected

I’m a cancer survivor. The worst time was waiting for tests and then waiting for results. Once you know what’s what you will feel better. You can get through this, somehow we find strength we didn’t know we had. 💐

thank you both for your answers ❤️

@coffeeforme1 how have you got on? I have been suffering from similar symptoms as you for a while and my doctor has requested a CT scan as the next option. I'm also really scared but trying my best to think positive.

I hope you've had good news since your op

Fairislefandango · 31/03/2023 16:44

Have you been checked for gallstones?

Eggwhisk · 31/03/2023 17:45

I haven't, my doctor has mentioned them but no tests as far as I'm aware. I thought gallstone pain would be on the right

coffeeforme1 · 31/03/2023 18:41

@Eggwhisk still nothing found. Still feel
terrible. CT with contrast to come and lymph node scan. Bloods all normal. Have you had covid in recent months?

Could it be a stomach or pancreas issue? Have you had an endoscopy?

Eggwhisk · 31/03/2023 18:58

@coffeeforme1 I had covid about 18 months ago so not recently. Sorry to hear you haven't had any answers yet, it's very frustrating.

@Titsywoo I've had an endoscopy and that was all clear.

Fairislefandango · 31/03/2023 19:05

My gallstones pain was in the middle and generally radiating outwards. In some people it's apparently on the left.

Eggwhisk · 31/03/2023 19:08

@Fairislefandango thanks for that info, it's good to know that gallstones are a possibility. I hope you're okay now

Staygoldponyboystaygold · 31/03/2023 20:35

I had an enlarged spleen with glandular fever, have you been tested for this? Just a thought.
