Ulcer behind wisdom tooth

Hi all, hope everyone is OK 😊

Just looking for some advice really - currently full of cold, have been for a week now. Started off as a sore throat, then terrible blocked/runny nose, blocked ears still, really sore mouth/gums/inner cheeks and feeling generally unwell...covid negative. I've still had a lot of pain on the right side of my mouth/throat when swallowing, and today looked in the mirror with my phone torch and there is a HUGE white ulcer behind my upper right wisdom tooth, surrounded by a really red angry area.

I'm going to give the dentist a call when they reopen this afternoon, but please can anyone advise on things at home that could help other than salt water? Really hoping I won't need antibiotics or the tooth out 😩 not sure if it's just because I'm run down?

Any advice much appreciated thank you xxx

Hi,

Currently going through the same thing. How long did it take to go?

Anbesol is always my standby for mouth ulcers. Large ones can take some time to go. It does really sting though!

I don’t know how long you’ve been seeing your dentist or how much you trust them but my advice is please get a second opinion if they tell you they need to take your tooth out.

a (wanker) dentist I saw removed two teeth, completely unnecessarily and there’s nothing I can do about it. I now have no teeth on the right hand side of my lower jaw. I often dream of clubbing the bastard.

A mouth ulcer certainly isn't a reason to have a tooth out nor antibiotics. Large ones can take some time to heal, my record stands at 3 weeks!
