Prism Lenses - anyone have any experience?

Evening all! I had been struggling using my laptop all day and getting headaches so went for an eye test. I was prescribed prism lenses about 6 months ago to correct one of my eye muscles which wasn't working quite in time with the other. I was told at the time to only use them when I'm using my laptop. I don't have any strength in them as eye sight is good it's just the muscle issue.

They do really seem to help yet it's a huge adjustment when I take them off and cause me a headache and wobbly vision for a bit afterwards. I thought perhaps I should wear them all the time so I called the opticians to double check when to wear them and they came back and said just when I'm in front of the screen is fine?

Are they actually supposed to just be worn all the time? Dr Google seemed to suggest they should be work all day.

I've had prisms in my lenses since I was 11, and I do find that many opticians don't fully understand eye muscle imbalances in adults. For me, I need a different amount of prism to hold my eyes nicely at screen distance than I do for distance but when I've tried contact lenses (I'm short sighted as well), though I can control my double vision for a few hours just wandering round, it will still be back.
So if you are comfortable with your glasses on all the time, its not going to do any harm to wear them all the time

Amazing. Thank you for the reply. I feel I either need them on all day or off all day. Taking them on and off messes with me!
I'll try them all day and see how I get on!
