IBS?

I am beginning to question if I have IBS and was just wondering if anyone else has experience of it + could share some wisdom?

Over the last few months I’ve had massively increased urgency when I need to go to the point that on occasions that it’s happened when I’m out I’m genuinely worried I won’t make it.
Seemingly random constipation/diarrhoea
Cramps
Fresh blood in stool at times

Any advice very welcome!

Go to Dr’s asap re blood in stool.

@BeeBB Have spoken to GP a few days ago and since it’s bright red + fresh they’re not concerned.

I had similar. I was told fresh blood = ok is rubbish. Fresh just means bleeding source is lower down bowel, near the exit, and isn't any indication of the cause.
I do have ibs but the colonoscopy showed a polyp which was removed .

My 18 year old had these exact symptoms. They ordered bw and stool samples, had an endoscopy and colonoscopy done within weeks and the dx that very day was ulcerative colitis.
I understand bright red means new/ not high up blood, but it still should absolutely be checked out.
I'm not saying you have UC of course but it does sound like some sort of ibd,and that absolutely can and should be treated.
You don't have to live in pain and all that comes with it.
Lots of luck to you.

Hi OP. The bleeding should absolutely not be dismissed by your GP without further investigation. Have they referred you on elsewhere?
I have IBS and frequently have the same scenario as you where I worry I won't make it to the toilet in time. My symptoms would be cramping, bloating, discomfort, tiredness and diarrhoea.
My advice would be to figure out your triggers and try to avoid them or if you do indulge, accept that you must suffer the consequences the next day!

Hey - I think you should keep with seeing doctor but I have IBS and I completely recognise what you've said there - I feel you!

I swear by 'Gut Wealth' now - really helps with the urgency
