Silver filling

I have to have a filling tomorrow. It's in the second tooth from the back. My dentist said he will try and do a white filling but he might not be able to so it will have to be a silver one. I don't know how I feel about this. Can anyone who has one in a second molar tell me if it's visible when talking?

I’ve got a silver filling there. I’ve been saving to get it changed to white. My dentist says it will be £150 to change it and didn’t say anything about it not being possible. Yes, it shows when I smile and I hate it.

The reason it might not be possible is because my wisdom tooth behind it hasn't come in straight so apparently that makes it more difficult 🤷‍♀️

I had a silver changed to a white and it caused nothing but problems till I finally had it removed. I wish i'd just left the silver in. Some of the ones I changed from silver to white felt like glass pebbles and it made me grind my teeth terribly.
