Any ideas what these symptoms could be?

I know i should probably to see a doctor for some tests, but feel like I don't want to waste anyone's time for what seems to be fairly minor ailments and thought I might try to take some vitamins or supplements before seeing a doctor.

I had a baby 12 months ago and in the past couple of months have suffered from the following symptoms, feels like my body is lacking something... anyone had similar postpartum and did taking any vitamins/supplements help?

  • Dry skin patches on body
  • Hair loss
  • Bone aches
  • Weight gain
  • Low mood
  • Brittle nails
  • Tiredness

Thyroid?

Just googled the symptoms and don't know why they didn't occur to me sooner as seems to fit this! I think I'll have to bite the bullet and get a doctor's appointment

Hair loss, brittle nails and tiredness could also be due to low b vitamins. Ask for a blood screen.

I had the same list except for bone aches and brittle nails, it turned out I need B12 injections. Very unexpected as I eat a diet rich in dairy and greens (greens every day).

Having said that, the tests can always reveal something unexpected. When I was younger I had a symptoms list that sounded like underactive thyroid but it turned out the weight gain was actually just due to fatigue from another condition.

Hypothyroid, could also be anaemia, low b vitamins. I'd ask for a full blood count

crossstitchingnana · 27/02/2023 07:33

I would say a deficiency. Get a blood test.

Yes to underactive thyroid.

Thyroid / menopause/ anaemia or a combo of all 3. You need to see a Gp.

Anyone have symptoms of whole body hair loss? Have lost 2/3rds of my head hair and most of my body hair. Still have my eyelashes but parts of my eyebrows are gone. Not getting chemo or anything but do have a few health problems. Mainly heart, thyroid , diabetes and fibromyalgia. But had these the last decade and only in last six months to a year has most of the hair fallen out. I was on Dihyracodeine30/500, OxyContin15mg ant night 10mgs in morning and Fentanyl pain patches three on at night. Have been for years and gradually cut them down to nothing by myself. Exceptionally hard to do but best thing I’ve ever done. Could the shock of withdrawing from these have caused it? I don’t drink, smoke or take anything illegal and my diet is vegan. Any help greatly appreciated.
