I have crippling anxiety just now. I can't sleep, I'm constantly worried. I have post viral fatigue, so feeling awful anyway. I have an appointment for an endoscopy which is scaring me a lot. Any advice very welcome. Please help.

I hope you managed to get some sleep!

A few things.
Do you take any medication for your anxiety? I take propranolol which is a beta blocker. I just take it as and when, which is rarely now, but many years ago it helped a lot when I would have panic attacks (often at night and for hours).

What is the endoscopy for?

Are you having sedation for it? I did for mine and honestly it’s fine. I don’t like medical procedures anyway (fun for someone with chronic illness!) so the cannula and oxygen thing wasn’t a joyful experience but genuinely I only remember that and then waking up with a powerful need for McDonald’s. If you aren’t having sedation then I can’t advise as much other than the procedure is pretty fast and the staff will make it as easy as possible for you.

I had an endiscopy too.I am afraid of medical procedures, but honestly it was fine. Ask for the throat spray and sedative. I was back on the ward before I knew it.

Very normal to feel anxious about a medical procedure.

Is the anxiety more widespread than this though?

Calming anxiety down means being willing to feel it and face it - let it in, allow yourself to feel it, otherwise it will shout all the louder for your attention.
