I’ve had this pain for a few months then it went away for about a month or so and now it’s been back with a vengeance for about 6 weeks.
The pain affects the right leg just under the knee (outer side) and through the shin and calf (slightly more inner side of leg). It’s waking me in the night, and it can come and go throughout the day. I can get comfortable sitting for a few minutes and then the pain starts (could be everywhere mentioned or just 1-2 spots), and if I shift position it will stop sometimes and then re-start.
I have a history of sciatica and plantar fasciitis but it absolutely isn’t this pain. Last night I was sitting on the sofa when the pain surged on my shin so badly it took my breath away. It lasted maybe ten minutes and then stopped like you’d turn off a light switch.
I have an appointment with a musculoskeletal specialist (GP receptionist gave me this appointment a few days ago to go to our local hospital) on Monday and physio for assessment next Friday but I’m desperate to know what this pain could be. It’s affecting my mobility and sleep, and ibuprofen doesn’t help much.
I did an aquaerobics class a few days ago and I could feel the leg hurting as it moved in the water and that evening I was in so much pain. I’m trying to rest but I don’t drive and walk everywhere so it’s not easy.
