Hi my daughter had conjunctivitis 2 weeks ago started her the over the counter antibiotic drops and they was not working so dr prescribed fusidic acid eye drops and they look like they was working but after 4 days of using them both her eyes have gone bright red and stinging to the point I can’t put the drops in anymore because it’s to painful for her ? Took her back to the docs and they said mayby viral but didn’t seem to bothered but the color of both eyes is shocking I’m going to attach a picture just to get some other opinions

OP can you take another photo please straight on. It may just be an artefact from the camera, but there looks like some little white marks in the cornea.

Preferably a little closer if you can.

Eh? Sorry Op I thought I’d posted back.

I’d nip out to the chemist and get some non-preserved lubricating drops. They will make her eyes more comfortable. If she won’t let you out then in, put a little drop in one of her clean fingers and ask her to try it near her eye and then put some in yourself. you can use them as often as needs be.

I’d try and get an opticians appointment for tomorrow. We have have a look with a special microscope which gives us an idea of the cause.

She never had a white spot but we did find out that it was viral and it could last for 3 weeks and it did abit longer I think actually we just left it alone in the end and it’s eventually cleared on it’s own x
