Earring back seems embedded in ear lobe

My one earring started hurting earlier and I realised i was long overdue a change. I've tried to take it out but it was sticking (and hurting even more). The backing was rubber/ plastic and the earring itself is silver. The back seems to be embedded in my ear. Any ideas what I can do? Should I go back to the piercer or is it a job for a pharmacist or the practice nurse? I don't think I can shift it myself. The more I fiddle the more tender it feels!

hmm this happened to my daughter. I squeezes her ear hard so it protruded then pulled it out with tweezers. Def couldn’t do it to yourself though.

Mmmm. I can only just see it, I don't think I can get it out on my own. I wouldn't trust DP!!

This happened to me except the front of my earlobe when I was about 8.
My brother managed to get one out with ice and the other one wouldn't budge so had to go to the hospital for them to do it!

Ice cube*

Is it definitely the back? The skin of the ear can look similar when turned inside out.

This happened to me, I went to A&E (was years ago)and had it cut out! I should think that a dr could do so I’d Ring drs to see if they could, it was only a small cut.

Is it a stud? You can cut the front of with scissors.

Or, last time I had this the lady who does my nails got them out for me - she's got qualifications to do loads of things to people's bodies.

This happened to me as a child. The nurse at the GP surgery was able to get it out so that would be my first port of call.

I’ve taken several of these out as an A&E dr. If you go at 8am the Q is almost always shorter.

Also happened to me as a child. My mum popped it out like a pimple 🤢

I've got it out! I don't think it was totally inside but it looked like skin had started to grow over it. It's very sore and the back of the piercing is quite open. I had my ears pierced about 10 months ago so I'm hoping that they don't heal if I leave earrings out for a few days. I'm never wearing cheap earrings again!!
