Struggling to get this under control. Can't afford Soolantra (at least not until next month) and I'm wondering if anybody had success getting the GP to prescribe this? Any other tips on what helped more than welcome! Mine is on cheeks and chin, red and lumpy :-(

Think soolantra is regularly prescribed by GPs, I certainly had no problems getting it.

They may also prescribe a course of antibiotics which is far from ideal, I hate take them but does help.

The derm I saw about mine also said to wear sunscreen even in winter and use cetaphil gentle face wash. Both these things have nudged in the right direction.

Hopefully you'll find something that works!! It's totally miserable and has wrecked my confidence, I was gorgeous till I was 38 and it suddenly started. There are things to try though and lots of people get it under control. Soolantra good place to start.

I asked my GP if she would prescribe Soolantra; she hadn't heard of it but looked it up and was happy to do prescription. I only use it when my skin flares up but think it helps. The key thing that helped me was switching to Cetaphil cleanser and moisturiser

Thank you, I'm going to ring the GP this morning. It's so awful isn't it! It's just suddenly become a thing, all over my face. My capillaries are also bursting crazily easily - I was sick the other day (migraine) and afterwArds the redness was a million times worse because of all the blood vessels that broke in my face and neck 😫

Eurgh she won't prescribe me it until I've tried metronidazole :-(
