Hi I want to go private to get tested for this. Could anyone recommend an excellent consultant in the London area from first hand experience please?

I was diagnosed in London. St George's hospital have consultants specialising in endocrinology who have an interest in PCOS. Don't see a gynecologist as they will prescribe the pill. PCOS is a metabolic condition. Mine responded well to treatment and I have two children. You need to have your insulin resistance tested as well as full hormonal profile and ultrasound. It took years for me to be diagnosed as fobbed off my GP's, but it took one specialist to find out what was wrong in minutes.

Professor Gerard Conway. He turned my DD's life around.

Funnily enough she had scans/tests at St. George's, and they were very kind, but she didn't get anywhere, and her GP was of no help (her suggestion was anti-depressants!!!).

DD has been taking Metformin now for several years, and has responded really well.

I'm.interested in this. Recently had a scan with nhs and they found a cyst. Told there are no scan appointments available until October but they can offer a video meeting in the meantime. Honestly....

They've also just put me on the IUD. I'm planning to pay for a private scan long before October but following for general advice.
