Can a virus cause breast pain?!

Felt under the weather last few days accompanied by breast pain in both breasts. Noticeably worse today and I'm mumsnetting from bed wondering wtf this could be! No temp, slightly nauseous after esting since yesterday, and tired / foggy headed. But the kicker is the boobs.

I'm assuming you definitely aren't pregnant? Under the weather and boob pain was my first indicator in each of my 3 pregnancies!! if not then I'm watching the thread with interest as I have similar but mine is extreme exhaustion and pain in the outside of one boob, Not all the time but this morning it was really uncomfortable - has gone now!

Definitely not pregnant :-)

What part of breast? I get painful armpit when I'm run down or have a virus. It's part of the lymph gland system. When I had Covid my underarm came up in really painful lumps. Had it checked at hospital and it was just a reaction to the virus. Hope you feel better soon Xx

Thanks, it's just the whole thing, I'm both sides! If I had to try to locate it it'd say it's pretty central, no clear one area, deeper than nipple. Feels almost muscular without being muscular. And the same in both of them :-(

I had the exact same thing last week op. How strange!

That's so good to know: a specific virus maybe?

I've had weird breast pain off and on since having covid. It's more to the side though and into my armpit. Doctor is not worried so I guess it must be fairly normal?

It feels a bit like before your period but worse and like I've been punched in them

I’ve never had breast pain throughout my life until I had covid a few months ago and I now seem to get pains in them regularly now like a muscular type ache

I did a covid test yesterday but it was negative, maybe I'll do another tmrw
